Fluffy Frank

Been getting fluffed with Vegas buffet and good eats. Just got back in town and there’s a Vietnamese restaurant called Luu Luyen next door. Everything’s 50% OFF when you dine in. The steamed rice could have been fresher since there were some dry flakes of rice in there. I also ate at Vinh Ky 2 Restaurant off Brookhurst and Hazzard. My pho cost $3, so it got me thinking - I’m gonna start eating at as many of these places in little Saigon that have 50% OFF and try them out! Good EATS!

Da1&2-RECAP

Day 1: Friday was definitely a slow start, especially with the ceiling leaks in our building which was named “the mall”. However I was able to finally meet and talk to Filip Leu after all these years. He’s definitely mellow and laid back with his approach in life and tattooing. Got to meet many other amazing tattooers include Jim Miner of Analog Tattoo in San Jose (my hometown).

Day 2: Started out a little better, but the highlight of our day started with Mrs. Loretta Leu (Filip Leu’s Mother) came by our booth to watch Erin and I draw and gave us some wisdom. She’s a sweet woman by the way she spoke and carried herself. Later on, Bandit met his idol Kore Flatmo of Pura Bella. And as we thought it was as good as it gets for us, Mr. Filip Leu himself makes Bandit blush, maybe pictures will explain why…

Day 3: So it’s the third round and we’re ready to roll with the punches! Can’t wait to start fresh Monday and being my long awaited projects - because it’s gonna be a fun will full of amazing art!

  HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

EighthElement xXx Musink

we were fashionably late and moved our tattoo equipment and stuff into our booth last night at MUSINK in Costa Mesa. And when we tried to leave, we ended up driving all over the huge place and almost got locked in. Our booth is in the tattoo building next to the “Side Stage” where they’re having BMX or Skateboarding. This is gonna be fun, since I did say a few years ago we were gonna be at this convention. I’m more excited to hopefully meet Mr. Filip Leu, who I admire. Maybe we’ll go on a EuroTrip minus the white girls, since we’re asian guys. haha - but who knows… It’s gonna be a fun and exiting day! for more info, go to Musink.org

noXmore-FISTING…Your MOM!

hhaha…. jk. I got my wrists lasered last Thursday at Dr.TATTOFF in Irvine. Just trying to lighten wrist tattoos I got back in 2002. I don’t regret the tattoos, just not fond of the person who did the tats. So I figured I’d just lighten them enough to get a cover-up by Baba at Vintage Tattoo since it was his suggestion at the Body Art Expo in Pomona. Which reminds me I should be setting an appointment with him soon. It was a pretty painful Laser Treatment experience. They suggested up to 13 sessions to remove it. It costs about $100 per session  (up to $1,200 to completely remove). My tats cost me $60 when I got them, and now it’s $100 per session (up to 20 times more financially) and 10 times more painful. The technician made it a little more pleasant during the treatment as she was very understanding and patient with me while I was scared like a little cry baby. It took me a few minutes to get into my zone and sit still. Then plasted this AC like tube to cool down my skin and slightly numb it before, during, and after the laser zaps which helped A LOT! It did bruise and blister the second day. The third day was when it started to get itchy and still itches a little bit today. I’ve tried my best to keep my hands out of my pockets and type and tattoo less. And of course my wrists as much as possible. I’m glad they gave me a mini ice pack before leaving because my wrist did feel like they were still cooking due to the laser for an hour after I left. I’m glad I went through witht the treatment because now I can explain to my clients the process and pros and cons of a laser treatment. I definitely recomment Dr.TATTOFF. They’re not the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for. JUST DON”T ever get a lip tattoo removed!

busy.B@Pomona…

WoW! it’s been a busy day for us at the Body Art Expo in Pomona. The convention space is definitely smaller this time around, but we’ve meet some new friends from NICE GUY TATTOO from Arcadia. Dan, Tom, Leo, and Jing! Jing is one cool dude to talk to! Not to mention, they all do beautiful tattoos. The guys of 187 CLOTHING were busy with their T-shirt sales across from us, and Roman of ARTISTIC ELEMENT with some of the guys of ALL HALLOW’s INK were holding it down as well. Over all, it’s been a busy and FUN two days especially meeting new and old friends and catching up. We definitely look forward on working on some new tattoos since we squeezed in so many free consultations between our breaks. We also purchased hundred’s of dollars of new products for you guys to convinently purchase at our studio. The most memorable part of the day was when Bandit came fashionably 3 hours late (at 2pm, rather than 11am) and introduced me (food lover) Del Taco’s secret love affair. You get a steak gordita, add some jalapeno poppers, and some hot sauce; and you get a sexy love affair. An orgy for your taste buds. Yes… I was a little hungry at 2:30ish, but it was still good! So that’s my challenge of the week starting Monday for everyone - GO try it at Del Taco! Thank you for your support and good night! Another busy day tomorrow - I hope!

SECOND.harvest.FOOD.bank.OF.orange.COUNTY…

Eighth Element Tattoo Just got a letter from the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County yesterday. Thank you everyone for helping us support the can food drive this past November and December. Together we rounded 303 pounds of canned food including Eighth Element Tattoo’s can food donation of $228.63. And to everyone who asked about the …glass jar of peaches - that went safely to the drive and no one here ate it. Have a good weekend! =)

SanPedro-FISHmarket+LBC-LaCreperie=

MUST BE HEAVEN! Enjoyed a rainy early afternoon at San Pedro Fish Market with friends. Fried Catfish and a pound of shrimp with garlic bread….D-LICIOUS! And… then… La Creperie Cafe in Belmont Shores (LBC) for Romeo & Juliet AND Napolean Crepes…HEAVEN!!!… Oh yeah - then I got to work at 2:30 today. I didn’t hear any tornado warnings, but definitely felt the food-coma coming as soon as I got to the shop. Just finished doing an add-on half-sleeve in color for a long time client who’s followed me from my studio in Anaheim to the shop. Overall - it was a very productive day and my belly definitely shows I’m happy today! Bandit did a sick wild dog portrait on a friends forearm. I think I’m gonna start doing more portraits too! They’re so fun and rewarding to do! Hmm… no more rain. =/
